This Privacy Policy explains how Morse Labs Private Limited (“Morse Labs”, “Vera”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), which operates the Vera service, collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you interact with us — including when you message us or receive messages from us on WhatsApp, visit our website, or use our insurance-related services. Vera operates in India. By interacting with us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to help you find, understand, and manage insurance, and to communicate with you:
- Contact details — your name and phone number (including your WhatsApp number).
- Insurance details — information you choose to share to get quotes or guidance, such as vehicle, policy, age, and coverage preferences.
- Conversation content — the messages you exchange with us, your responses, button clicks, and your opt-in / opt-out status.
- Usage information — message delivery and read status and basic engagement metrics provided to us by the messaging platform.
2. How We Collect It
We collect your information when you choose to connect with us, including:
- Tapping a “click-to-WhatsApp” advertisement on Facebook, Instagram, or other Meta platforms that opens a chat with us;
- Messaging us first on WhatsApp or another channel; and
- Through an existing customer or business relationship in which you previously shared your contact details with us.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide insurance quotes, information, and guidance;
- To send you service messages (e.g. quotes, updates, reminders) and, where you have opted in, marketing and promotional messages on WhatsApp;
- To connect you with insurers or insurance partners so they can prepare quotes or policies for you;
- To operate, improve, and secure our services; and
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. WhatsApp & Meta
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform (provided by Meta) to communicate with you. When you message us or receive messages from us on WhatsApp, your information is also processed by WhatsApp and Meta in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies. We send messages in compliance with the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and only message you where we have a valid basis to do so (such as your opt-in or an existing relationship).
How to stop receiving messages. You can opt out of our WhatsApp messages at any time by replying STOP in the chat, or by emailing us at support@heyvera.in. We will stop sending you marketing messages promptly after your request.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services:
- Insurance partners and insurers — to obtain quotes or arrange policies you have asked about.
- Service providers — trusted vendors who help us operate, including the WhatsApp Business Platform / Meta and our website-hosting and infrastructure providers, who process information on our behalf.
- Legal and regulatory authorities — where required by applicable law, regulation, or lawful request (including insurance regulators such as the IRDAI), or to protect our rights and safety.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
7. How We Protect Your Information
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data at all times.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. 9. Children
Our services are intended for individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
